Can you check, if you have a proper imei on both slots.
First slots imei is registered in nvram. Second slot is seperated.
Hi,
First of all its great to find the support here for vibe x2, thanks to all those contributing!!
Its my second week with this device and I already want custom recovery.
Is this to be understood that boot loader unlock is a pre-requisite for this ? if so could you give me links to boot loader.
So far, I already tried to the steps to install custom recovery provided by taking the TWRP v2.8.6 present in the link above (and the scatter file present there).
My observation :- 1) First time I chose "Download Only" in the flash tool and flashed the recovery, then device went to boot loop continuously
2)Luckily after multiple retries and experimentaion, I chose the option "firmware upgrade" and flashed the recovery, then my device came back to life. But when I try to enter to recovery mode, still I could find the "lenovo recovery" itself!!! (I am not complaining since atleast I could boot my device again)
But what could have gone wrong here ?? (if I am not wront, boot loader unlock is the pre-requisite ??)
Your support is appreciated, thanks in advance.
Update :
I managed to successfully flash twrp, downloaded the image again and tried the same procedure…
thanks.
update 2 : I see that after flashing twrp, now it always boots to recovery and does not do normal boot at all
help please..)

when i go to settings–>phone information-> imei information then my imei(slot1) and imei Sv(slot1) is unknown. can i restore it somehow?
but still i have imei2, and i can make outgoin calls or answer calls, but i dont hear any signal or any voice? plz help me
Your nvram is wiped. If you backed up nvram with twrp, restore it again. Your first imei will come back. Second imei is irrevelant with nvram, directly encoded in external modem chip.
If you dont have your nvram backup, take a look at my mediafire share folder. There is a twrp-x2-generic-nvram.zip.
Flash it with twrp. after that, recover your imei with maui meta tool.
All files and applications shared in mediafire folder.
Ok, thank You for help.
But when i installed maui meta tool, i launched the app, clicked reconnect -> plugged in the usb cable -> power on. but error showed up:' [28] Error in BootROM communication, please press Reconnect button to connect with target.'
Anyway in the meantime i installed ROM X2-AP_ROW_S223_150528 ( to switch the romes i had to pick format all+dl in the flashtool) , and now when i go device information i have android version: 5.0; baseband version(slot1) unknown; baseband version(slot2) x2-l.md2.v3, 2015/05/11; build number: x2-ap_s223_150528_row. and i did what u wrote on this rom. does it consider each other? should i install other rom and then reinstall it again?
I've made the conversion from X2-CU to X2-AP, following the instructions here. Everything was fine, I've restored nvram and replaced the moden files. But my system is very unstable, rebooting all the time with no aparent reason. Does anybody who install this AP rom on a CU device is having the same issues? What should I do? I can not use the phone, because it reboots every 5 minutes!
@ferrsi,
you may want to try to wipe cache. if, like me, you restored apps through titanium backup after upgrade and conversion, it could be that some app or data is creating the issue. you can do this through TWRP.
ericp2 , I did wipe the cache, but the phone is still rebooting. I've installed my apps direct from play store.
@fersi,
assuming you don't have a hardware problem… here's what i would try:
1. make sure the files replaced in /system/etc/firmware have the correct access rights (rw-r-r). there should only have been 2 files replaced. if you change the rights, reboot after that.
2. re-install the AP S223 ROM. make sure after that when you restore nvram through TWRP, to only select nvram!. in this thread or xda, i saw one case of somebody having restored nvram+system… which would definitly create problems.
Obviously, from a distance, it's really really hard to say more. good luck!
