Thanks Lazlok, i shall definetlty try it out in the next few days. Did you disable the NFC antenna with the tape? I thought the GPS antenna and NFC antenna were one and the same…

  The GPS and NFC antennas are not the same, neither in this phone or any other. Their physical size differs too much.
  
  The location of the GPS antenna is not documented anywhere, so I only guess (by size and form) that it might be just above the memory card with the phone face down.
  
  Anyway, the foil does some magic, since the SNR is a bit higher. I also applied a foil strip on the side of the phone, inside. It also gives somewhat better signal.
  
  I did not test this mod on the road yet, I can´t promiss you blue skies and green medows, but I think it will increase the usability of the GPS.

  Thanks, i did try the foil inside of my back cover, but i didn't notice any difference. I didn't try it in this rom because i couldn't get the wifi to work, so i reflashed to gizrom by marsapa. Did you dissasemble your phone? To bad there’s no ifixit guides for this phone…

  By the way i tried globalsat 368 bt gps reciever. But i returned it because it didn't get fix more then two times in one weekend, it also had problems pairing with my phone so i lost patience. Do you live in Sweden? You said earlier that you understand swedish. What type of bt reciever did you order, and where? Thanks beforehand, Tommie.

It is very strange. I used Pfuffy ROM 1.05 no problems with GPS

Then i used 1.07, 1.08.1 then a lot of problems.

I flashed Masarpa Rom v5 and miracle GPS very good (with Sygic too). FIx in some seconds and always the arrow on my road the first day, the second day.

But the third day, the GPS was crazy again and the fix very very slow to get !!!

If it is an hardware problem why ok 2 days ??? and now bad again ?

Yes I disassembled my phone and checked the contacts to the anenna. Unfortunately it's difficult to determine WHICH is the actual contact to the GPS because it's bundled with the WiFi antenna. The contacts on my phone appeared to be OK, but I read here that some ppl had some contact issues.

The Bluetooth logger I ordered is called ELE, supposed to have 65 channels, costs 35$

Did not receive yet, it is delivered on the back of a turtle, all the way from China.

And yes, I live in Sweden, and if you know the Swedish taxing rules concerning deductions for car usage, you shurely understand why flowless GPS is a MUST here.

  I tried a_bait rom edited but with no luck with the gps. Although i liked it, i swaped back to gizrom because all of a sudden the stock messege app was gone. It had a very stable bluetooth connection in my car, best so far. I tried to reflash a_bait but i culdn´t find my titanium bacup this time allthough i tried to import it, worked first time, not the second. will test again.

  Fidled around a little in titanium, and found my Nandroid backups, I´m currently restoring from my twrp backup, seems to be working fine so i guess i´ll try a_bait a few more days…

i think it is not a hardware problem but a software problem

a_bait Rom Edited is good with GpS

i will try more tomorrow but i tried 2 times and it was good

I think it is a hardware problem, the signal strength is not very good so it might be at the verge of freaking out. If that is the case that would explain why some ppl have working gps (production tolerance in their favour), no working (the opposite) or only working without cloudy skies (seems to be the case with my one). So I think a better GPS antenna will solve most of the problems.

  I agree that it´s mainly HW problem, but I believe that it could be compensated better with SW then Zopo does with it´s firmware at this point. The positioning is extremely depending on the clock and the algorythm used for calculating the phaseshift between the signals, and there should be some things to do by the developers (Zopo or MTK, let it not be said).
  
  My experience with my phone is that with a very marginal improvement of the signal made the navigation almost useable, and I think this is the case for many of us.

I am a passenger in a coach now
It is raining a lot
I use a_bait-rom-edited Rom
And GPS is perfect
Already 150 kms and the arrow is always on the road – Sygic

I will flash back to pfuffy rom and marsapa rom to test with same conditions
