I made better gps.conf file to my self in Finland now navigation in car works little better. In jogging gps is still way off route…adds like 1 km to every run. Im also getting weird hot reboots with this newest rom like phone is idling in my pocket and strating random app it reboots.
I flashed the uboot, sec_ro and ebr blocks of the 0303 9520 rom (search for 9520 here), gps is better now, at least apps can get a fix after 10 seconds or so. But car navigation is still not good, laggy, jumpy.
Can anyone shed some light on what is in what blocks, for instance where is the radio firmware?
Please, before you brag about a perfectly fine gps, try to use it for navigation! If I'm standing in front of my home and wait for 5 minutes then even the crappiest chinese phone has "perfect gps" even the X7 and that had practically no reception at all.

Mine do such one, after more than 3 hours of YGPS test with 3D Fix, as you described, with how the Google NAV and Syginc showed while i'm drive my car… :

I do what you write down. Tryed whit hot start and full start. Take several hour this process… The YGPS got signal around 10 sec with full start, and show 3-5 meter accuracy.
The problem is simple: you cannot navigate with YGPS, and the navigation apps (sygnic, igo, endomondo) find GPS signal around 100 sec, and the accuracy around 25-100 meter as i experienced. In short: the phone barely useable as a navi…
please try an take the gps.rar i have uploadet an replease the gps.conf
rename the old one to gps.conf.old
an the epo.conf
put then into system/etc remember to make permision to RW-R-R
restart phone an see if it helps

Clear instalation, all is working great, but MTK not supported if I wanted to set GPS as You write in changelog.

Sorry fluffy, please don't take it personal. It's just comparing apples and oranges. Cifu pointed it out already. you seem to have a better overall reception though, mine is rather than cifus:
First is indoor but on the upper floor (only wood above)
Second and third are outside but with buildings around before and after I disassembled it (again) and fiddled around with the antenna contacts (as you can see, didn't change much)
Third is outside a bit more in the open. So SNR is not as good as fluffys but I think acceptable.
As for navigation: Same problems as Cifu.

Exactly the same experience. I also checked if the antanna connection was playing with me – but no difference, the problem remains the same: in spite of "good" connection to the satellites, horrible in navigation. Location errors up to 200 meters.
I wonder if it really is a software problem and not the same crap as all the other MTK SOCs ?
