Ok, GPS is working… sort of. My reassembly did the trick, so I'm proud, guy with 2 left hands and no technical background whatsoever is better than big Chinese phone manufacturer. ;-)

As mentioned earlier this is a hardware problem and I'm talking about real hardware here, not something current flows through.

What is wrong and why Zopo should shame: The two connectors for the antenna on the back of the cover (second cover, bodywork) are glued directly to that hard cover (you will find the little plateau on the top left if looking from the back) while the mainboard always sits a bit crooked. Because there is no spring behind the glued connectors, one of the two connector pins does not get very good contact with the mainboard -> weak signal -> freaking out gps.

How I fixed it: The mainboard connectors touch the glued strip on the inside, right where it comes through the hole/space. So i added two (!one wasn't enough!) layers of duct tape on top of the right side of the "plateau" and then put the connector strip back on top of that. Duct tape is perfect because it functions as a DIY spring which is exactly what is needed.

Now I have working Car navigation, not the best in the world and sometimes still freaking out a bit when not moving because of another issue with this phone: the compass! BUT it is totally usable now.

Still I expect an official Zopo repair kit, so I can abandon my duct tape DIY solution.

I can only advice everyone to not buy this phone. as long as there is no official statement, a repair kit, a solution for new phones and an apology to all those ppl having no GPS after paying 250$.

Is it hard to remove the second (inner) back cover? Things i need to think about so i don't break anything?

      Thanks beforehand /Tommie.

Haha got an answer from Zopomobileshop:

    > What is your order number?
    > Plz make sure that you are ordered from http://www.zopomobileshop.com......
    > we can only responsible for orders sent from our website.

Yes they are right, totally right, the do not have to help me. But they also could have forwarded my request… :)

@Xnyle: can you provide some photos of your solution? If you made any. :)

Maybe i disassembly my phone AGAIN, even if i get crazy how hard to place back the buttons properly into the cover… :P

yes did you take pictures ? can you put them here ?

Zopo want to sell but no want to repair !

And Zopo stops new ROMs very quickly. Prefer to add new product every week than take care his customers. But ..they will loose their customers in the future.

Hi  fluffy, i cant install the rom properly, i´ve already installed several times from cwm recovery but with no luck, it keeps giving me error when i try to open gallery or other apps. I did wipe cache/ dalvik cache/factor reset/ before every installation. Should i try with twrp recovery?

    Thanks for the good work.

    @stromau

    I had exact same problems..

Maybe there is a little difference in the hardware in our batch phones..

My phone is 2 weeks old..and bought by ZOPO EU

Warezjunk i believe its someting with the upload, it happened the same in a earlier release by fluffy, i manage to download from another link and all was fine. Fluffy do you have an alternative link to download the rom?

@Stromau: well, most of us won’t have problem nor with the 1.07; neither the 1.08 upload. I use TWRP recovery, all fine (except the noted GPS problem, which is probably hardware related).
