DESCRIPTION

>>>>Xiaomi.eu drop'd the support of weekly ROM's for all the Android 4.4 based Xiaomi Phones. They will only release Stable for these Android 4.4 Phones. The Version 6.11.3 will be so far the last real Multilanguage ROM Port. I will port the stable rom as soon as it's been released.<<<<

Hello,

i present you a port of Xiaomi's MIUI 8 to our Zopo phone (mainly 980/C2).

Base work is made by Vell, a great friend and mentor in case of porting this rom to our Zopo phone.
I will continue his work as far as i can.
I have a Zopo 980 2/32 so i test every port i will release here. And my native language is german, i can speak and write english but for russia i have to use Google Translate, so be prepared :(

Original Topic is here.

In case of bug's, Errors, Problems:
Please give me as much Info as possible, my Crystal Ball is not ready yet, still need some parts for it. :( but still keep in mind, i port this in my free time, and in case of bigger, deeper problems i have to consult others, i don't really have the deep knowlage of Android programming and/or porting. All i know, comes from Vell, his help and his post, where i helped out too, like many of you may know.

    Hi Dave,
If I want to make a clean install, I have to wait the next update? Thanks!

It's better to wait, yes, because i try'd it out with the latest release (the clean install) and it did'nt work, sadly.

But i'm interested: Why are you restarting your phone so often? I restart my phone only if i make ROM testings or installing a new one.

Oh, and if you planning a clean install, why not testing out the Titanium Backup App? So you could restore all you need after new release is out. A test would not hurt ;)

    Hi Dave,

I restarting my phone Once a day, out of habit, since my first smartphone, because Sony recommended it.
To restore only “data apps” I use the TWRP, Restoring only data from the complete backup.
In the past I have always used titanium backup, because I always modded my smartphone.
I don’t use it only on MIUI, Because recovery are very useful.

    MIUI6.9.8 v61 now released!

[U] Base firmware changed to 6.9.8
[U] Open Gapps changed back to pico-20160815 due to reboot problems
    [+] Added Titanium Backup
[+] Added (in filesize) smaller Static (with moving Dot's) Bootanimation

As i wrote some post's befour i recommend a clean install TWRP -> Backup!!!! —– TWRP -> Wipe -> Advanced Wipe -> select Data, Cache, Dalvic-Cache and system -> swipe to wipe :( AFTER this, go back to main screen, hit Reboot -> Recovery and install new v61)

Install it with Open GApps and SuperSU (this apps will be install'd as system Apps, so you have to install them everytime, even on a UPDATE, sry)

Don't worry about the Open GApps, Google services will update itselfe if a update comes out.

If something changes in the next release (with GApps and/or install procedure) i will write here. Until then, have fun.

Still had no luck with including more languages, sry, but i will try it some more times.

    Dave

    Hi Dave!

I did a clean install and restore only “data apps” from the TWRP backup. The wipe dalvik /cache problem on every reboot is solved! Thanks!
    Great work!

    Hi Dave,
When I install or update an app from the play store, or uninstall an app from the device, an error message appears :
    “unfortunately, Google play servic… ”
With” cancel ” and ” report ” at the bottom of the pop up message. It depends from the Google apps?
    Thanks Dave!

      Hello redfox91,
Sry to hear. I try’d the uninstall via moving the app into the trash and uninstall via playstore. In booth cases I got no error or Google services reports. Install’d serial apps too, no errors. So I can’t reproduce ur error.
Maybe it’s because of restoring the data partition completely. As I did the clean install I restored the apps via titanium backup, so I did not restore system specific apps and/or services. I let the playstore app as it was right after the rom installation. Maybe something was on your data partition that interfere with the play services or the playstore. This happens to me too as I try’d to make a update of the latest rom and not a clean install.
Sry, that I can’t tell you more.
      Dave

    Hi Dave!
So, I’ll try to restore only apps with titanium backup. However, the message isn’t a problem. It appears but all works perfectly.
I keep you informed. Thanks Dave!

I restored the apps with his data, so everything was like before the clean install. And I restored the lines with the titanium logo (should be the yellow ones) these are the call history, SMS, accounts… So you don’t need to setup everything again.

OH, and you need to unselected the “mount namespace separation” under settings in supersu and make a restart to take effect. Otherwise titanium backup won’t work correctly.

    Hi Dave,
I make a “correct” clean install and the problem is solved. I didn’t have titanium backup because I restored the complete TWRP backup for the last incorrect installation losing titanium backup app. For this clean installation I restored the data apps by using Miui backup and restore application :) thanks for your help!

      Hello redfox91,
Since the last weekly you can install titanium backup from within the aroma installer.
But I’m happy, that your problem is solved.
