i don't want to backup my data. i just want to keep it and install update. and therefore want to know what to delete and what to keep
i saw that the new official version 7.25 only has three chinese apps left. rom has been cleaned by umi themselves. you can uninstall these three apps with Titanium Backup.
This ROM can be installed via CWM.
yes, i saw there is a flash-tool-version and a cwm-version (update.zip), ty
Hmm that was a reply to an old question I guess.
Has anybody experienced a reduction in the phone's reported internal storage from 32gb down to 2gb (or 1.29 in my case) after installing a new ROM? How does one rectify this?
Internal storage has always been around 1.48GB, telephonestorage ist 26,77GB.
It sucks you cannot install Apps on 26GB partition
You're referring to to the internal memory of 2gb. I was talking about the phone's internal storage being reduced from 32gb to 2gb.
Anyway, I tried formatting from CWM, but that didn't work. In the end, on a whim, I plugged the phone in to my computer, turned on USB storage on the phone, and when the phone appeared in My Computer, I simply right-clicked and re-formatted it. The internal phone storage is now back to its full 32gb. Boom.
Now I'm gonna sell the phone and get a real Galaxy S4, coz I just can't get the damned GPS to work. This has been a bad experience of chinese clones for me.
no, i am not talking about the RAM of the phone, i am talking about the ROM/flash/storage.
it has 1.48GB of internal storage to use. and 26.77gb of telephone storage. but you cannot install apps on the 26.77gb partition.
i don't understand how you formattet it in windows so you have one 32gb partition, because the OS is also on the internal storage and if you would format that, the OS would be gone.
Hmm I think we're confusing each other. When I refer to 32gb, I'm rounding up for ease of discussion. As you know, no storage device will ever report it's fully advertised storage allocation.
Plainly speaking, when I went into File Manager on my phone, my external 32gb SD card correctly listed itself as having 26.7gb of space, but the phone storage was only listing 1.29gb. Now, after reformatting the internal phone storage via my laptop, it correctly reports 26.76gb also. Sorry for the confusion.
hi "d3viant", i have this phone, i have this rom(19/7) and i am in france too (but : UMI X2 Turbo 1.5Mhz 1gb/16gb).
this phone is working great and the GPs is fixing fast (13s to 55 s) . All you have to do is install gps.conf in your system directory, frandroid forum in france is your freind for this, and many sites like xda..
Umi X2 is great phone tha costs me 170 (218$), far from the 599 € of the Galaxy S4 while giving me 95% of what s4 will give, so no problèmo
ok i get you now
Really? Hmm, gives me hope! Can you point me to where I can find the gps.conf file and necessary install info? The GPS problem has been the one thing that's put me off the phone (other than the pretty average camera with no HDR). I've also experienced very temperamental cellular and data connections too (with Free Mobile). Other than that, yep, it's a great phone! ;)
Have you tried any other ROMs with or without success?
for gps.conf try (france only fr.pool.ntp.org):
NTP_SERVER=fr.pool.ntp.org
XTRA_SERVER_1=http://xtra1.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
XTRA_SERVER_2=http://xtra2.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
XTRA_SERVER_3=http://xtra3.gpsonextra.net/xtra.bin
SUPL_HOST=supl.google.com
SUPL_PORT=7276
SUPL_TLS_HOST=supl.google.com:7275
SUPL_TLS_CERT=/etc/SuplRootCert
PHONE_TYPE=UMTS
gps.conf needs to be copied to the root-directory (not root-folder) of your phone and then \etc. overwrite existing.
permissions should be rw-r–r–
restart phone after copying gps.conf. enable gps, download "gps status" app from playstore. use settings/tools to wipe agps data then receive agps data again. (you can restart phone now but maybe don't have to). you must be unter clear sky ! fix should be within a few seconds or a minute.
