Install ROM :
- Unpack FlashTools, and Click on Flash_tool.exe
- Select a the MT6582_Android_scatter_emmc.txt in ROM
- Wait file to be added into Flash Tool
- choose Option->USB Model,click USB Model
–> Choose Option->DA DownLoad All->Speed->High Speed, click High Speed
- Turn off your phone, remove the battery.
- "Press F9 (hit Download button)" OR " if upgrade ROM Firmware->Upgrade "
- and connect your phone into the computer via USB data cable.
- The process will start and a red progress bar will appear after color purple, yellow.
- And green circles display
- Finish !
- You can now safely disconnect your phone and turn it on.
※Please make a backup of your device before installing or updating ROM

The rom released by geekbuying on 31.12.2013 is very good and is a stock unrooted rom without any chinese apps. I flashed it with SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1343.01.

Flashed and rooted with RootGenius (in English with Kinguser built-in). Finally sorted.

Dreamerman, does this ROM have any effect on GPS?
I have a bit of a write-up in xda forums. Just look up "dreamerman" and "w450".
Well yes, but nothing about our main problem: the crappy GPS.
I can't update the ROM because my computer doesn't recognize my w450 when it is turned off.. I tried to update the driver but still it is not working..
Any help?

Hy. My phone just arrived from China with DHL shippment (13$ cheap), 2 days ago.
Phone works fine, smoth, but are some problems with stock rom 4.2.2.
First, GPS dos'nt work. Play Store, Gmail, Youtube missing.
I flashed "STAR W450 – Update 11/15/2013 – Rooted Flashtools", but GPS still dont work and battery draining its much faster than stock rom
Anybody encounter same problems? Some fix from that?
Hello.. I have w450 November version. My device is with me only for 5-6 days and it has several problems. The first one was with wifi. Sometimes has wifi immediatly and sometimes is looking for wifi until I restart him.Another same problem I have with camera. Usually is working fine but sometimes when I want to take picture it only shows black screen.Of course until I restart him.The third problem is with screen. It freezes and I only can remove battery and fix problem with that. Fourth problem is with apps and w450 ejects sometimes from apps. I dont know anything abut GPS but probably its not working like the rest. And I almost forgot that w450 also doesnt recognize Sim card!
Can you please help me cause I dont know what to do?
