For full kernel changelog, visit my github repo: https://github.com/infraredbg/Lenovo_A820_kernel_kk
GPU overclock (works on some A820):
Currently it is only supported via init.d script
Go to /system/etc/init.d and open 00proton with a text editor
Uncomment and change desired value (all values are explained in the script)
Save and make sure the file has correct permissions
Reboot device
You can verify if the GPU frequency have changed in /proc/gpufreq/gpufreq_var_dump
Installation:
If you're currently using one of my DEV roms, it is recommended to do a clean install
It is recommended to use my TWRP 2.8.4.0 recovery (install via Rashr from PlayStore on phone or from FlashTools on PC)
Copy zip on sdcard and optional GApps package and reboot to recovery
Do a full backup of your current ROM including nvram block (IMPORTANT)
Wipe system, data and cache from TWRP. The script does not do automatic format.
Install ROM zip and GApps (optional)
Reboot system (first boot takes time)

Where can I find the Lenovo Kitkat upgrade mentioned in the the tutorial for flashing Proton KK ?
I am trying to flash the Proton KK but I can't find the Lenovo stock files mentioned in the tutorial. Can I use the S147 stock instead of S139 ?
I am not sure if I found a chinese only A820_S139, if there is such. The title and packed pdf are in chinese.
The files A820_S139 and the Kitkat upgrade are not available here on Needrom. I have tried to Google them but with no luck except
the A820_S139 file I mentioned above. Where did you guys find those files ?
It would be great if somebody could help me with download links.
Cheers
Where can I find the Lenovo Nougat upgrade ???
This ROM hardly will get any update due to the kernel vulnerabilities (Meltdown, Spectre, etc). According to Intel the recent problem concerns practically all CPU's! What kind risk it is to use the phones with non-updated kernels. The problem is not only with this phone and this ROM, there are (and will be for long time) m/billions of old phones in use which will not get any update. Should we throw these phones to a junk pile and move back to a letter coorrespondance?
AFAIK Big part of Meltdown only afffects Intel CPUs, so the ARM chipset used in A820 is not affected.
Spektre affects many vendors, but again our ARM chipset is not affected.
From linux kernel commits: "Cortex-A57, A72, A73 and A75 are susceptible to branch predictor aliasing and can theoretically be attacked by malicious code." MT6589 is Cortex-A7.
@indianrapists There's no Lenovo Nougat update. Newest official firmware for this phone is JellyBean 4.1.2.

Hi. Is there a regular possibility to prevent some applications from being unloaded from memory?
Good rom
I don't want root, how to fully unroot?
SuperSu app has Full Unroot option in Settings, but I haven't tried. Might work.
hi! can this ROM be installed at the resized memory, or i have to remap it back to factory sizes? thx
Yes, no need to reset to factory partitions.
