For full kernel changelog, visit my github repo: https://github.com/infraredbg/Lenovo_A820_kernel_kk
GPU overclock (works on some A820):
Currently it is only supported via init.d script
Go to /system/etc/init.d and open 00proton with a text editor
Uncomment and change desired value (all values are explained in the script)
Save and make sure the file has correct permissions
Reboot device
You can verify if the GPU frequency have changed in /proc/gpufreq/gpufreq_var_dump
Installation:
If you're currently using one of my DEV roms, it is recommended to do a clean install
It is recommended to use my TWRP 2.8.4.0 recovery (install via Rashr from PlayStore on phone or from FlashTools on PC)
Copy zip on sdcard and optional GApps package and reboot to recovery
Do a full backup of your current ROM including nvram block (IMPORTANT)
Wipe system, data and cache from TWRP. The script does not do automatic format.
Install ROM zip and GApps (optional)
Reboot system (first boot takes time)

Btw, maybe a good news for all of you.
I have decided to introduce android patch level to this ROM as well and will patch any vulnerability I can.
So stay tuned… I haven't forgot about other fixes promised too, although it was long time ago.
Great, thx in advance. My A820 still alive. BTW my power button works ok, however I save it using app Shake to turn the screen on.
Thanks infrared. Any idea when this will happen?
Cheers
I can't tell you ETA, since I'm very busy with my regular job, but I already started to explore the patches.
Still on August patch level, but I have many things already patched from before (mostly in stagefright lib – only latest patches missing), but I have to go through all other bugs that were patched in official Google builds anyway, so it will take some time.
Updated to September, but October is a big one: https://source.android.com/sec.....2016-01-01.html
Hopefully next week I can fully update it.
Thank you for your work!
Update: Stuck at one bluetooth update, so it will take more time than I wanted. Once it is done, I will upload here.
Hi I installed this ROM before but sometimes afterwards it would just bootloop. I can see the Proton logo but thats it, doesnt move to the OS. Ive cleared the Dalvik and the cache but still doesnt work. What is the problem?
When I was instaling your rom i`ve repartitioned sdcard to 2,2GB. Now i want 2,7GB. I`ve instaled few apps and don`t want to do clean install. What can I do? I don`t have any files on sdcard1. Can i just run repart tool again and select 2,7GB without loosing my data?
No, you will loose the data.
However, you can backup data partition from TWRP and save it to external card. After running the repartition script you can restore it.
I will only restore the data, not the original partitions.
No OS now. Only Lenovo logo..
You have to reinstall ROM as well, if system partition is also resized.
Hi infrared, is it materially possible to port one of those lollipop roms for mt6582 and mt6592 also for mt6589?
People always say everything is possible.
The main problem here is the GPU, which is different. Stock SGX544 binaries from KK/JB don't work for LP.
Simple porting won't work for sure, it needs to be compiled from source.
The ROM works very well! Thanks!
However I have noticed some very strange behaviour of phone brightness. My phone brightness starts to adjust itself several times within a second, both darker and brighter. What's interesting, is that it happens only when phone is in artificial light and not in sun-light. Maybe the sensor might be confused by incandescent lighting frequency?
I didn't have this problem in Infrareds 4.2 ROM, so maybe it might be a bug in new one?
