For full kernel changelog, visit my github repo: https://github.com/infraredbg/Lenovo_A820_kernel_kk
GPU overclock (works on some A820):
Currently it is only supported via init.d script
Go to /system/etc/init.d and open 00proton with a text editor
Uncomment and change desired value (all values are explained in the script)
Save and make sure the file has correct permissions
Reboot device
You can verify if the GPU frequency have changed in /proc/gpufreq/gpufreq_var_dump
Installation:
If you're currently using one of my DEV roms, it is recommended to do a clean install
It is recommended to use my TWRP 2.8.4.0 recovery (install via Rashr from PlayStore on phone or from FlashTools on PC)
Copy zip on sdcard and optional GApps package and reboot to recovery
Do a full backup of your current ROM including nvram block (IMPORTANT)
Wipe system, data and cache from TWRP. The script does not do automatic format.
Install ROM zip and GApps (optional)
Reboot system (first boot takes time)

I saw some time ago an instruction how to istall the undervolt kernel, but can't find it now. Could somebody kindly give a hint, or write an instruction here. And an instruction how to revert back if the undervolt kernel doesn't work in my phone. The OS installed is Proton KK AOSP.
Recovery: backup boot, flash boot-v2.3r2-undervolt.img, to revert flash previously saved boot.
I don’t know how to do it but if I understood correctly the undervolt is set through a .INI file with instructions in it.
Yes the auto brightness isnt as good as on the previous ROM.
On mine I had tweaked the engineering modo/hardware/sensors to improve it a bit.
Another known fault is the proxy sensor which simply does not work in the dialler app (but does work in whatsapp calls, strange)
Other than that the ROM is great. I have it for a long time now.
One thing that started to anoy me is the contacts app taking ages to load, when it loads, but this only happens when I actually need it! However I have so many apps, exposed modules, gravity box tweaks and broadcast receivers blocked….I can’t really blame the ROM.
Battery life at least 2 days and this is basically the reason I do not want another phone yet. All apps run OK and fast too, I use maps very often to navigate around by car.
Hi demencis, my proxy sensor works fine. Moreove, I use Gravity Screen app intensively (with proxy, not gravity sensor) – app and sensor work smooth. I know peoples reported proxy sensor problems already…
The only thing annoying (me) in this rom is low in-call loudspeaker volume (not the earspeaker) that I cannot fix i engeneer mode. Asking again: if someone have the patch from 4pda.ru please share.
The EngineerMode apk they say works on AOSP, haven't tested myself.

Thank you infrared! Now Hardware -> Audio parameters are making effects. Not to spectacular but a always a bit (Sph increased from 120 to 160 in Loudspeaker mode). I didn't try other settings.
Sorry for the big delay. You have asked about this before, but I forgot.
Have too many things in my head, so I often forget about things
Don't hesitate to remind me if something like this happens, I try to reply to everyone without any bad feelings.
polish language?
yes
Tu artek, worked…
…I mean, instruction worked, but phone not well enough. Screen started flicker when browsing emails, watching movies etc. So, not usable in my case.
Some (or maybe many) chipsets can't handle the low voltages and get unstable.
I've said it before, but my chipset can handle much lower than this, even when GPU is overclocked to maximum. But that's just my phone.
Unfortunately I don't have a "problematic" A820 to test and second-hand A820 are still to expensive to my liking just to make the test…
Same applies to various sensors and also front camera on A830. The other part of the "problem" is that noone wants to test anyway.
Plus it is not a good variant to send compiled kernels again and again to remote location somewhere in the world even if someone agrees to test it. Noone locally wants to lend his phone.
I wanted to buy used A820 and A830 just to fix these issues, but prices here are in the 60+ euro range for fully functional phone.
I'm working on a new version of this KK kernel which is almost ready. Fixed vulnerabilities from Nexus bulletin, support for zram, doubletap2wake, swipe2wake, swipe2sleep, linux kernel upstreamed to 3.4.110, improved performance and battery life I believe.
I don't have a SIM card in the phone anymore and only installed messengers I use on my Redmi Note 2 too. The phone lasted 6d 6h with onscreen time close to 3h, WI-FI always connected. So I hope you will see some improvement too.
Also working on 3.10.xx Lollipop kernel, but still a long way to go.
I'm eager to try your coming creation!
thank you very much for your great effort!
Me too.
Interesting how doubletap2wake will influence on power consumptiom… I tried Shake, GravityScreen (presently) apps, MiKey/Pressy hardware but can't find 100% convenient replacement for my power button hidden in thick rubber case.
Well, I'm experimenting with new touch driver and doubletap2wake, but it seems that power cnsumption is not good.
I'm also trying to boot CM12.1. So far got it to boot, but screen is blank. Hopefully we can find what is wrong.
When you share aosp?
Think I fixed the problem with battery drain in kernel and will be testing this week, so hopefully next week it will be available.
