DESCRIPTION
This is a custom KitKat rom for Lenovo A820 compiled from source.
It took me a lot of time to get it to this stage, so if you're porting to another device or do some mods, please have respect and give proper credits to original author.

Added patch for WPA2 vulnerability. Install from recovery, then wipe cache and dalvik. Reboot.

ART is not working, so it is disabled. Could not solve this problem.

GPU overclock (works on some A820):
Currently it is only supported via init.d script
Go to /system/etc/init.d and open 00proton with a text editor
Uncomment and change desired value (all values are explained in the script)
Save and make sure the file has correct permissions
Reboot device
You can verify if the GPU frequency have changed in /proc/gpufreq/gpufreq_var_dump
Installation:
If you're currently using one of my DEV roms, it is recommended to do a clean install
It is recommended to use my TWRP 2.8.4.0 recovery (install via Rashr from PlayStore on phone or from FlashTools on PC)
Copy zip on sdcard and optional GApps package and reboot to recovery
Do a full backup of your current ROM including nvram block (IMPORTANT)
Wipe system, data and cache from TWRP. The script does not do automatic format.
Install ROM zip and GApps (optional)
Reboot system (first boot takes time)

Hi! @Infrared I know that there is Lenovo page, but I want to ask about xiaomi redmi Note 2 project /rom. You bought that phone and you said that in the future you’ll release rom for that phone. I was trying to find anything about that and with no result. Are you working on? Regards!

Does anybody have experience about WhatsApp with this ROM?
I have a major problem, after a minute or two the voice of counterpart starts to fluctuate (volume up <-> down) so badly that I can't copy his words. Counterpart hears me well all the time.
I have tested this with two counterparts.
No problems wit Skype!
Above is via WiFi.
Via 3G SIM the connection works but like old time simplex!!!
According to WhatsApp home page it is planned to work via SIM-card data connection, not via WiFi!
So, the experienced problem has nothing to do with Proton KK ROM.

I've installed this ROM and it looks great.
Writing a summary of all the steps I've taken just for reference:
1. Installing flashify apk and then flashing recovery_TWRP_2.8.4.0_A820
2. Taken screenshots of IMEI, BT and WI-FI Mac addresses
3. Reboot into recovery. Did a Full backup. Turn off the phone. Remove battery and put back in.
4. Installed LenovoUsbDriver_1.0.0.exe on PC
5. Used FlashTool to set the stock ROM S139. Disconnect the phone. Remove battery and put back in.
6. Used FlashTool to upgrade the KK package
7. Boot into Recovery. Wipe Cache, Data, System and Internal SD-card blocks
8. Reboot into Recovery. Install Proton_KK_Repart_Tool_v1.0.zip. Configured 600 MB / 2,4 GB.
9. Reboot into Recovery. Wipe Cache, Data, System and Internal SD-card blocks
10. Reboot into Recovery. Install A820-PROTON.KK.V1.0.zip & Proton-GApps-Mini-4.4.x-20150716
11. Reboot into android system. Check IMEI numbers are ok.
12. Updated superuser
13. Tried to update via OTA but update 1.0.2 MD5 didn't match.
14. Reboot into Recovery. Install A820-PROTON.KK_.V1.0.1_OTA.zip.
15. Reboot into android system. Checked update 1.0.1 was applied.
16. Reboot into Recovery. Install A820-PROTON.KK_.V1.0.2_OTA.zip
17. Reboot into android system. Checked update 1.0.2 was applied. I think it's finished
I don't know if the last updates may have been done together, but I did them separately just in case.

Besides, I have another problems
1) How to customizer the income ring music (not to use the presets )?
2) While turned on the phone (KK Proton), power charging action will stop within several minutes. Becuase, I saw the external power adpater indicated charging completed. But, the animation of Proton power indicator is still running. What's wrong of it (Settings issue )?

I would recommend the clean version (without zram support) – either uv (undervolted) or normal volts, but it seems the undervolted one works now for most people.
