And many more improvements…

ART is not working, so it is disabled. Could not solve this problem.

For full kernel changelog, visit my github repo: https://github.com/infraredbg/Lenovo_A820_kernel_kk

GPU overclock (works on some A820):

Currently it is only supported via init.d script
Go to /system/etc/init.d and open 00proton with a text editor
Uncomment and change desired value (all values are explained in the script)
Save and make sure the file has correct permissions
Reboot device
You can verify if the GPU frequency have changed in /proc/gpufreq/gpufreq_var_dump

Installation:

If you're currently using one of my DEV roms, it is recommended to do a clean install

It is recommended to use my TWRP 2.8.4.0 recovery (install via Rashr from PlayStore on phone or from FlashTools on PC)
Copy zip on sdcard and optional GApps package and reboot to recovery
Do a full backup of your current ROM including nvram block (IMPORTANT)
Wipe system, data and cache from TWRP. The script does not do automatic format.
Install ROM zip and GApps (optional)
Reboot system (first boot takes time)

New problem: Hardware power button stopped working, long press and short. So the phone cannot be powered off or reboot. But when the phone in lock mode it works well as unlock. Button began working again after pressing volume buttons.

This is the hardware problem, you can follow this article from China to fix the problem by take apart your A820

      http://tieba.baidu.com/p/30808.....13029

From the article, the auther said his aluminum gasket is shifted, put it one the right place make it work properly again.

I don't know if here is the right place to discuss the kernel, but I.nfraR.ed merged the S2W feature in the latest version of Proton KK.

But we really need more time to fixing about the function not work properly.

No, it is does not look as hw problem, 'cause button work fine for unlock the phone, but can't lock or shut down. and not I'm the first with this problem in proton kernel. In 4.1 kernel I never had this problem. So it is trouble of the soft.

I avoid using the power button as much as I can.
To lock I set the navigation keys in GBox to lock with a long click on the menu button.

For the power menu I have 3 other options. The one I most use was set from the exposed “gesture navigation”, where swiping 3 fingers downwards on the screen shows it

I know these are just work arounds but it seem you power button is broken?

The problem is that there is no way to awake this phone without the power button, unless you keep it awake (never in deep sleep) .

Having said that, however, I have one automatic flow to turn on the screen using the proxy sensor, which seems to work quite well and cpuspy says the phone is asleep with no impact on the battery consumption.

    I hope it helps.

    Cheers

I use power button rarely as I can, and accidentally discovered that glitch, 'cause I would like to reboot the phone, Anyway after pressing the volume buttons, the power btn began work again as it should, so it is software problem.

I have also that same power button problem as nonamexd. Nice to know that volume buttons help, have to test it as soon as I can…

Have you install Xposed Installer and modules which can affect the function of hardware button behavior?

Sometimes user want to edit the hardware button to perform other act… but as I left to @nonamexd , if providing the logcat would be helpful to solve this issue

I can't debug this, because it never happens on my phone.

Funnily enough this happened on my wife’s phone tonight. Never on mine though (the very same phone).
Other than similar apps she has facebook app installed and I haven’t…..
I simply rebooted the phone and it worked again. Will keep you posted

On any ROM power button always has worked faultlessly on A820 with me.

Sorry, but I'm so confused that I need to ask this potentially stupid question? Does this updated version of this rom include Finnish language. I'm more than fine with English but my phone is going to used by a child so I need the translation.

Second question is a bit irrelevant but how can I change the boot splash or whatever it is called.. I have to Proton logo when i start the phone but before that there is a miui v6 picture even though I'm obviosly not using that rom anymore.. What should I do to change this picture or hide it or whatever… Thx in advance.
